Yep, not only did she get her birthday twice (on the 17th and the 19th!), three bottles of grape-based-alcohol, a manicure, a pedicure, dinner, and drinks, but also she got her own blog setup! Yesterday (Oct 17th) was Amanda’s birthday, and I think she had fun for the most part. I enjoyed shopping for her, since buying wine is pretty easy to do. Having the get-together at AppleBee’s doesn’t seem like the most enjoyable spot though, after having both Kristine’s and Amanda’s minature celebrations there (along with the GOD awful music) I think we need to find someplace different to go. Now I’m just looking forward to going to Dinner with Amanda on Thursday, as well as enjoying some of her Birthday presents with her.

Dinning Room Makeover!

I went to Maggie’s (an old standby of my lunch areas) today with some coworkers, and found out that they had completely redone the dining area. No longer is it the hole-in-the-wall grease-n-grub bastion of awesome food, but it looks almost as if it is a respectable eating establishment. Ok, not almost, but it looks nice. Gone is the faded lime green wall paper and the riser to the smoking section (though not available anymore thanks to County ordinances), gone are the family photos on the wall, and gone is the white picket fence along the riser. The brand new woodwork, light blue paint, and ceiling tiles are a welcome change; however the bare walls do need some touch-ups in the art department. All in all I think it’s an awesome change, and I can’t wait to see what happens to the bathrooms, entry way, and the rest of the place.

Heat! (Not the movie) pt 2

Ugh, I know I was whining in late September about the temperature, but in the first 2 days of October it’s been hellaciously hot. So much so that I was sweating in my air-conditioned office (now with 2 less servers)! If you didn’t think global warming was real before, you’re an idiot (and I think the current weather trends solidify that it is real).
